Haryana sports and youth affairs minister Anil Vij rubbished reports of plans to develop sports infrastructure in Balali, the village of wrestling champs Geeta and Babita Phogat, being dropped

Recently, the sisters had claimed that the BJP-ruled state government had dropped plans to develop sports infrastructure intheir after their father had campaigned for the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala. Mahavir Phogat is heading the sports cell of the party. “Some anti-social elements are trying to mislead people by stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is indulging in politics of revenge. We have not rejected any such development. Just because Phogats have supported JJP, we will not shelve the development works. We are working for every race and it is in line with our policy of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’. We okayed Rs 177.24 lakh for teh infrastructure on December 21, 2017, and panchayati raj department was also instructed to develop the wrestling hall. We have not rejected any such project and all the money has already been released,” Vij said
